This listing is for a skinny quarter (9 inches or 22.9 cm), fat quarter (18 inches x 22 inches or 45.7cm x 55.9 cm), 1/2 yard (18 inches or 45.7cm) or 1 yard (36 inches 91.4 cm) of fabric. Please select the length you wish to order using the drop down box. There are multiple yards available. You will receive the entire yardage as one complete length.

This beautiful fabric is 100% cotton and is a yarn dyed shot cotton. This means that the fabric is woven from pre-dyed yarn of two different colors. This gives the fabric a beautiful hue that changes depending on the angle of the light. It is perfect for quilting, clothing, accessories and other home decor.

This fabric is a lightweight with a slightly stiff drape. It has as subtle sheen and smooth, soft texture. This fabric is prone to fraying so it is suggested to use slightly larger seam allowances.

The last photo shows the color most accurately. Crayola brand crayons are shown for a color comparison and are not included in the listing.

Fabric specifics:

-Fabric is 44 inches (111.8 cm) wide.

Although this isn't a true Japanese fabric (it is produced in India by an American company) I have decided to start offering it as an alternative to some of the more expensive and difficult to find Japanese yarn dyed shot cottons. I think that the color and hand of the fabric makes it also work well with vintage Japanese fabrics. It is a lighter weight so it would pair well with Olympus' kofu tsumugi fabrics. These are in available in wash-away sashiko samplers here: www.rochestertextile.com/search?q=tsumugi+wash+away

When compared to the Olympus kofu fabrics the Peppered cottons have a bit more of a structured, uniform weave and no slubbing.

Washing instructions:
Machine wash color. No Chlorine bleach, Tumble dry low. Iron if necessary.

Please note that if you order a large number of yards that the shipping weight may be overestimated. I always refund shipping charge overages of $1.00 USD or more.

*I am always willing to provide more information or pictures regarding my fabrics or using/sewing these fabrics. Please do not hesitate to send me a convo if you have any questions.*

I believe that the pictures show a good representation of the fabric colors however, please remember that colors may look different on your monitor.
