$49.99

This boxed set contains 15 cards of Daruma thin sashiko thread, a pin cushion and sashiko needles all contained in a sturdy cardboard box. It is perfect for a gift or for anyone who wants to add Daruma solid colored, thin sashiko threads to their collection.

This boxed set includes 15 solid thread colors of Daruma thin sashiko thread. Each card holds 40 meters of Daruma 20/4 sashiko thread. This thread is 100% cotton and made in Japan especially for sashiko but can also be used for sewing, mending, knitting, crocheting, knotting, decorating and boro. This thread is size #20/4.

These colors are contained in this box set:
White (201)
Goldenrod (220)
Red (213)
Mauve (211)
Orchid Pink (210)
Deep Teal (205)
Navy Blue (215)
Bright Blue (224)
Green (207)
Green Tea (227)
Dark green (208)
Lemon Yellow (203)
Gray (217)
Dark Gray (229)
Black (219)

The set also includes a dark blue colored pin cushion and pack of 4 Daruma brand sashiko needles with a needle threader. This is the same Daruma needle pack that can be seen here:

The blue colored box is made out of cardboard and measures about 11 inches long x 3.5 inches wide x 2.5 inches tall (28 x 8.9 x 6.4 cm).

The pin cushion is made out of a dark blue fabric that is sewn around a soft wadding. It sits in a cardboard box. The pin cushion (while sitting in it's small cardboard box) measures about 3 inches long x 1 inch wide x 1 inch tall (7.6 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm). It nestles perfectly in the box along-side the sashiko threads.

These threads tend to stay smoother and do not get too "fuzzy" when stitching with longer lengths. This thinner thread is also more suitable for stitching through multiple layers of fabrics (like quilting) or when using fabrics with a tighter weave. The thread can also be doubled if desired.

The last photo shows a comparison of sashiko threads. The thickest threads are to the left.
