This listing is for the yukata seen in the photographs. Please note that yukata do not have belts or loops for belts. This is a new, unused yukata that was made for sale in Japan for wearing during festivals.
This yukata was created out of a lovely textured, 100% cotton fabric that has a printed pattern of pink, mauve, purple and white sakura (cherry blossoms) and kiku (chrysanthemums). The cotton has a wonderful "woven" texture and a crisp drape.
The last photo shows the color of the kimono most accurately. Crayola brand crayons were placed in the photos for color comparison.
This yukata is not lined. Please note that the cotton used to create this yukata has a slightly open weave. This open weave will help you stay cool while wearing the yukata but it does allow light to be seen through the fabric. This can be seen in the 9th photo. It is recommended that a white kimono undergarment (juban) be worn under the yukata.
Please read the dimensions to determine if you will find the size desirable for you.
*Length of yukata: about 64 inches ( 163 cm)
-Yukata are folded when worn to adjust the length. For the majority of women the hem of this yukata may drag on the floor unless it is adjusted. Measure from your shoulder to your ankle. The difference between this number and 64 inches will be the amount that needs to be folded. For example: If you measure 50 inches from your shoulders to your ankles then 14 inches of the yukata will be needed to be folded to adjust the length. If you measure greater than 64 inches from your shoulders to your ankles than this yukata will be too short for you.
*Total width of yukata with sleeves: 52.8 inches (134 cm)
-Stand with your arms spread out and have a friend measure from one wrist, across your shoulders and to your other wrist. This will help determine where the sleeve will fall on your wrist.
*Length of sleeves(how far the sleeves fall): 19.3 inches ( 49 cm)
*width of yukata: 55 inches ( 139.7 cm)
- measure around your hips at the widest point. Subtract this number from 55 inches ( 139.7 cm). If the difference is about 16 inches (41cm) or greater than this yukata should fit you well. If the difference is about 10 inches (25cm) this yukata should still fit you but it may not overlap as much in the front. If the difference is 10 inches (25cm) or less than this yukata will not overlap enough in the front and will not fit you correctly. Of course, you can still wear it as an open robe or use it for decoration!
